It is OK to leave ThunderShirt on your dog for longer periods of time depending on the problem they face. For the first few times, you should remove ThunderShirt every one to two hours to be sure it is comfortable and fits right. Skin irritation or other problems happen very rarely, but it’s always best to be careful and check they are comfortable. If you see any signs of discomfort or irritation, please stop using the shirt and contact us. We would suggest taking off your dog's ThunderShirt a couple of times a day as a minimum when they wear it for longer time periods.

ThunderShirt is a great solution for most dogs facing stressful situations. Many dog lovers tell us that their dog was more relaxed after the first time of wearing ThunderShirt. With others, it may take wearing ThunderShirt a few more times to see results.

Follow the instructions to adjust Thundershirt to fit your dog. When sized and put on properly, your dog should be very comfortable wearing a ThunderShirt.
ThunderShirt is made with durable, washable fabric. It may be washed on a regular cold wash cycle. Make sure all of the hook and loop fasteners are connected to avoid the risk that they grab other fabrics in the wash. Hang to dry.
